I was having a problem with a huge nest of what I first thought were bees. I started calling pest control agencies in the Tri-City area. I called Rose in Saginaw on Friday morning, August 22, 2025. They were able to identify my picture as a yellow jacket, but couldn't give me an idea what time or day that they would be out. They had to reach out into the field and were going to call me back in about an hour when they could get a better answer. I waited almost 2 hours with no response and I then called Best Pest & Animal Control in Bay City in the afternoon. I spoke with Ashley. She was a pleasure to speak with. She was very professional, ask a few relevant questions and provided me with suggestions and options, including having the nest relocated if they were honey bees. I told her that Rose had already identified them as yellow jackets. She was able to set me up quickly with an appointment the following Monday. Her husband Alex arrived Monday and did a very comprehensive elimination of not only the yellow jackets but any other invading creatures. I watched as he not only treated the tree that they were nesting in, but did my entire property including my garage and attic. 2 days later all I could find were a bunch of dead yellow jackets and I could safely mow my lawn again. I was extremely impressed and found them to be wonderful people to work with. I signed up for their yearly service, which keeps me free of all pests and rodents with three scheduled visits a year for a very reasonable price. Thank you to Ashley and Alex. Contacted Best Pest & Animal Control regarding yellow jackets in an exterior wall. They were able to get me on their schedule within a couple of days. Trevor came out and dealt with the nest within a few minutes. He was friendly and kept me informed about what to expect. I would highly recommend Best Pest & Animal Control!

Not happy with service. Contracted for groundhog trapping. Service consisted of two weeks (weekdays only - no weekends) with only one active trap. After contract expired, was finally told that groundhogs are difficult to trap. The fact that there was a good chance of failure would have been good to know upfront before the $300+ fee was invoiced. Furthermore, for this amount far more than one trap was expected. I read several other Google reviews and do not feel the great service most customers experienced was directed toward my contract. Just to add to the dissatisfaction, I observed two groundhogs grazing in our backyard shortly after the trap was removed on the last day.

Found I had a rat living under my fridge when it destroyed the water supply line. Another company told me they "don't do rats" and to buy a couple snap traps, which I did. Then I called Best, and made an appointment. I trapped and killed the rat 2 days before Trever came out to assess the situation but I was afraid there were more. After inspecting the house, he didn't think full bore treatment was needed. He charged a modest inspection/consultation fee and suggested setting a few more traps. If we see any new activity we will call back and he will come out and begin treatment. He said they will deduct the consult fee from the treatment fee. I'm very pleased. I have peace of mind. And I trust that if I do need help again, Best will be the company that will take care of things for me. I highly recommend their services. I can't remember who the other company was, but how can a pest control business say they "don't do rats"? Maybe it was above their capabilities. I'm so glad I called Best.
